About Mayapraan

Hello dear Otithis,

Welcome to our little happy village, Mayapraan.

As our 8th production, we have explored something very different.Folk dance is a complete contrast to our usual classical dance classes,yet it lives very close to our hearts.

None of our students had ever tried folk forms before, and as a director, this was new to me as well. But along the way, between rehearsals and rediscoveries, we realized something beautiful,this is a form we connect with naturally, because it comes from our roots. And we are nothing without our culture and heritage.

In Mayapraan, you will see 100+ Adult Beginner dancers who are doing so well that I would proudly say they are dancers in the making. They are not professional dancers,just working professionals finally fulfilling the childhood dream of learning dance, even at this stage of life. Our Adult Beginners community today stands 725 hearts strong, with students ages 18 to 70, all genders, and above all,a safe and joyful space for everyone.

And this time, our stage also holds something extra special—the little ones.

We believe in making mistakes,because that is how we grow and become better.

So yes, tonight you may witness mistakes, little missteps, blank moments, and imperfect timing but that is exactly what our productions celebrate. This stage is not about perfection, it is about joy, courage, culture, community, and dreams finally being lived.

Tonight, we are celebrating our mistakes, our strength, our passion, and our dreams.

So please,sit back, soak in the music, feel the rhythm of our roots, and enjoy the journey with us.
